As extensively and independently published information in the African media concerning the true identity of Mr. Hippolyte Kanambe by Jeune Afrique and others concerning the real father of Joseph Kabila who is reported to be a Rwandan called Kanambe and his mother a Rwandan Tutsi called Marcelline, who later became one of Laurent Kabila’s many wives, DRC Foreign Minister, Bizima Karaha (a leader of the Rwandan-backed rebel Congolese Rally for Democracy), described Hippolyte Kanambe alias “Joseph” as Laurent Kabila’s adopted child.

“When I saw Hippolyte Kanambe first in Kisangani in March 1997, he was Commander James Kabarehe’s driver, and was presented as the commander’s nephew”, a former companion of Laurent Kabila told African Business.

Hippolyte Kanambe served in the Rwandan army in 1995. Several witnesses also stress the indisputable fact that Hippolyte Kanambe alias “Joseph Kabila” is fluent in kinyarwanda, the lingua franca of Rwanda.

JOSEPH KABILA’S HIDDEN ORIGINS

1. His origins :
Joseph Kabila, in his real name Hyppolite Kanambe Kazemberembe, was born on 4th June 1971 of a Rwandan father on the name of Christopher KANAMBE and a Rwandan mother named Marcelline MUKAMBUKUJE. His father was an opossant to the Rwandan former president Juvénal HABYARIMANA. He met Laurent Désiré KABILA, opposant of the Zairean former president MOBUTU, in the resistance movements based in the mountains on the rwando-zairean border, where they fought against their common enemies: MOBUTU and HABYARIMANA.

After the death of his friend Christopher Kanambe in 1977, Laurent Désiré Kabila married (in the traditional customs) his widow Marcelline and adopted (in the same traditional customs) her two young twin children, a girl and a boy: Jenny KANAMBE and Hyppolite KANAMBE.

2. A neglected youth :
LD Kabila, who wed - several women (of which more than 13 -) when he went underground-and of which he got a number of children (more than 25), had only a limited - time to take care of the latter. So as he had not been able to push his studies beyond the secondary level, the young Hyppolite Kanambe was forced to do several jobs for his living- amongst which as a taximan, and as a barman and of mechanic in the cities of Dar-are-Salaam and of Kigoma in Tanzania.

-Indeed, his"foster father" (hear ‘step father’), LD Kabila, lived with all his family in exile in Tanzania during Hyppolite's childhood and adolescence. Kabila spent more of his time in exile in the traffic of the gold and diamond rather than fighting MOBUTU's regime; which often led him to cross the forests and the mountains of Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda, to exercise his fraudulent business.

3. Back to the native land
In 1995, Hyppolite Kanambe decided to get back to his motherland the Rwanda, where he was welcomed by his uncle James KABAREBE, Colonel and Head of the intelligence services of the Rwandan Patriotic Army (APR), who accommodates him in his own home.

At first, Kabarebe finds for his his nephew a job as "driver boy", in other words drive assistant of a delivery truck transporting goods in Kigali, before employing him as his private chauffeur.

In 1996, when the Americans launch their military ---base to prepare the invasion of Zaire, Paul Kagame appoints Colonel James Kabarebe as Head of the military operations and responsible of the "Zaire File". He supervises the recruitment and the training of the new recruits of the military base. This is when he takes the opportunity to register his nephew Hyppolite Kanambe to the training program, in order to incorporate him, at a later stage, to the invasion operation of Zaire that is being primed.

II. PROGRESSION TOWARDS POWER

1. Paul Kagame's machiavellian plan: destabilize the DRC with the purpose of occupation and annexation

Joseph Kabila's entry to the supreme magistracy in Democratic Republic of Congo constitutes the crowning of a machiavellian plan skilfully conceived by the "brain", Paul Kagame, and accurately executed by his accomplice Hyppolite Kanambe turned into Joseph Kabila, under the directives and by means of his uncle and mentor James Kabarebe.

The final goal, in the long term, is to take control of the running of the Congolese State structures from the top, in order to progessively realize the plan of occupation and annexation of targeted territories programmed in the east Kivu provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

By controlling the political and military power in Kinshasa by means of a very top staff -accomplice, Paul Kagame believes to have enough operational margin to maintain the crisis in the region of Great Lakes and facilitate the realization of the plot.

Paul Kagame is very aware of the fact that a strong and stable Congo, with a powerful and dissuasive army would constitute a severe obstacle, even a danger, to the machiavellian projects he has been nourishing for several years against the DRC. And having launched the operation of destabilization of the DRC by provoking both wars, he knows that the resolution of the

Congolese crisis would sound the knell of his power in Rwanda and would inevitably bring to light his direct involvement in the war crimes and the crimes against humanity committed against the Congolese populations and against the Rwandan Hutus refugees decimated in DRC by the Rwandan troops of the APR, allies of AFDL.

2. The strategy of "Trojan Horse"

To reach his goals, Kagamé had conceived a plan of which the cleverness laid in using the strategy of the "Trojan Horse". It consisted in getting in Rwandan, disguised under the Congolese identity, into the expeditionary force of the members of the coalition and the allies of the AFDL of LD Kabila, in order to control the political and military institutions of the DRC. It is in this context that an important number of Rwandan political and military executives pointedly showed their false Congolese identity. Among them we shall remember the most comical case of … James Kabarebe whom Kagame imposed to Laurent Désiré Kabila as Army Chief of Staff of the Congolese Army in 1997 and 1998. A lot of people forgot or did not notice that it is in the same lot that Joseph Kabila was imposed to Laurent Désiré to the heart of the system of his power in order to be able to control him better at first, then to weaken him, and finally to finish him.

Today nobody is capable of understanding the subtlety of the functioning of the mechanism of complicity between the Kagame, Kabarebe and Joseph Kabila, since no one understood the strategy put in place by both first ones to enable the elimination of all civilian and military persons who constituted either an obstacle, or a threat to Joseph Kabila's ascent to the top of the power in DRC.

This is why, it is essential to know the hidden details of the ascent of this sphinx of which the apparent composure and gentleness oppose terribly to the ferocity which he manifests at exterminating his real or presumed adversaries.

3. The successive stages of the ascent of the sphinx

Everything starts in 1996, a few weeks after the AFDL coalition 's launch of the war against the Zaire of Mobutu, when Laurent Désiré Kabila is recruited by the Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni and presented to Paul Kagame (with the blessing of the United States) to head the "Zairean rebellion".

During the introduction of LD Kabila to Paul Kagame, the latter is rather disappointed by the aspect of his host who had, according to him, no look of a fighter, still less of a military man to lead this important military expedition in Zaire. In front of Paul Kagame reserves and anxieties, James Kabarebe reassures him by suggesting an accelarated training to the Rwandan special services for his nephew Hyppolite who, (how convenient), is close to the new boss of the "rebellion" who is no one else but his foster father …

So Hyppolite Kanambe appears as the providential man who is henceforth going to serve as "safety valve" and as "guard rail" beside Laurent Désiré Kabila. He will be at the same time guardian of the interests of Rwanda, in other words, the eyes and the ears of James Kabarebe, which was in fact Laurent Désiré Kabila's "direct boss".

To allow Hyppolite to fill his mission near Laurent Désiré Kabila more effectively, Colonel Kabarebe will him to a quick intensive training for intelligence officer (O.R.) in the Rwandan Army intelligence services training centre.

From this moment onwards, the process of his infiltration at the core of the AFDL plan and around LD Kabila will accelarate.
Indeed, after a brief in-service training in quality of his uncle James Kabarebe's aide-de-camp (in order to get him acquainted to the "Zaire file", get to know his new country and integrate the instructions and objectives of his mission with LD Kabila), Hyppolite Kanambe made his first official appearance beside LD Kabila who introduced him as his collaborater (not as adopted son or even step son), after the fall of the city of Kisangani in March 1997.

At this stage of his mission, his task consisted in centralizing and in filtering all the audiences of LD Kabila and in reporting daily to his direct superviser Kabarebe, to the high attention of the "Boss", hear Paul Kagame. In this line of action, James Kabarebe had personally enjoined LD Kabila and the Rwandan security officers around him, to include Hyppolite Kanambe to all audiences without exception - so that he could take notes down! No audience was to be given if Hyppolite was not invited.

It is also from the Kisangani stepping stone that Joseph Kabila starts to assume military responsibilities as leader of the military intelligence services of M'Zee (LD Kabila's nickname). This position gave him the way to lead the massacre of hundreds of thousands Hutus refugees in this region - on James Kabarebe's order.

After the fall of the city of Lubumbashi in April 1997, the coalition engage the final march towards the capital Kinshasa. Paul Kagame and James Kabarebe order LD Kabila to present Joseph as his son, urged by the events he cannot negociate, he obeys. Those who, so far, had known "Major Hyppo" will hear, for the very first time, LD Kabila name him "Joseph Kabila" and refer to him as "his son" during an interview. A major stage of the process had so just been achieved!

This was the condition Kagame imposed to Laurent Désiré Kabila, to be authorized to self-proclaim President of the Republic of Zaire! Kagame's offer was quite worth its weight of gold, for the simple reason that in fact, the Americans had opposed to the nomination of Laurent Désiré Kabila at the head of Zaire. Against this new ally of conjoncture, the C.I.A. had a heavy file of serious litigations! Kagame knew that Laurent Désiré Kabila was well aware of this American disposition towards him. No wonder then, that a few months later, M' Zee broke the juicy contracts he had previously agreed on with the American Kansas companies! This decision would cost him his own life.

In April 1998, James Kabarebe, now promoted General Chief of Staff of the Congolese Armed forces, suggests to LD Kabila to send his "son" to a military training in China, for a couple of months. But while Joseph Kabila is in China, the political climate between Rwanda and Laurent Désiré Kabila deteriorates quickly. As good strategist, Kabarebe quickly decides to call his joker back, in case … So, at his hasty return from China and on James Kabarebe's proposition, "Kabila junior" is boosted to the rank of Major General and is given the function of commander-in-chief of the ground strengths of the FAC! This is how he became right-hand man of … James Kabarebe at the head of the FAC!

4. Pretence demarcation from Kagame and Kabarebe

Shortly after the official inauguration of LD Kabila in Kinshasa, the inhabitants of the capital are horrified when they discover the trick : the so-called "war of liberation" was actually hidding a dreadful Rwandan invasion. The Rwandan military of the coalition who behaved as on conquered territory in the Congolese capital struck the Congolese’s pride and started getting on their nerves. The discontent rumbling rose and popular pressure was put on Laurent Désiré Kabila, himself exasperated by the arrogance of the Rwandan learned assembly which had invaded all the sectors of the political and the military power of the country.

As a result, the reliable relations between LD Kabila and his Rwandan mentors went bad. M' Zee, forced by his people who demanded the departure of the "Rwandan invaders" began to show the first signs of nervousness.
This situation does not escape James Kabarebe, the fine strategist, who promptly alerts at once his boss Kagame. Both decide to immediately proceed with the higher phase of their plan: James Kabarebe thus immediately passes the plan instructions on to Joseph Kabila and notifies him that the latter has now become the major pawn of the Rwandan plan in DRC. Joseph Kabile is warned of the imminent and strategic withdrawal, from DRC, of the Rwandan troops and political executives expedition. As for him, he has to distance himself strategically (seemingly) from Rwanda and from his interests in order to gain more trust from Laurent Désiré Kabila and get even closer to him, fully playing the sensitive game of the adopted "son". To do so, he has to pretend to take sides with his "father” Laurent Désiré Kabila", against the Rwandan!

From this stage, Joseph Kabila starts to systematically link with the Katangan colonel Eddy Kapend (very close to LD Kabila), then with General Anselme Masasu, natural leader of the Congolese military native of Kivu. The connection with the latter will result in a bigger trust from his "father" who will confide him the intermediary's role between him and the Congolese military native of Kivu, whose trust he has just gained thanks to Masasu’s friendship.

So when the quarrel between Laurent Désiré Kabila and his Rwandan and Ugandan ex-allies arose in June, July and August, 1998, Joseph Kabila will line up with his "father", according to the strategy established beforehand and according to the instructions from Kigali. This gesture will deeply touch Laurent Désiré Kabila who will appreciated it to its value…!

Here is how the Rwandan trap closed on Laurent Désiré Kabila without him being really aware of it. He will so be manipulated by his own enemies who will use him, himself -as we are going to see-, to open them the royal way to its murder and to the taking of the power in DRC.

5. Systematic elimination of several Congolese military officers who hampered the ascent towards the power
In August, 1998, after the Rwandan invasion of Kinshasa failed and after the resulting Congolese revolt against rwandans, to accelerate the execution of the final phase, Joseph Kabila received the order from Kigali to get rid of any impeding or harmful element from his circle or in his way.

To facilitate this delicate mission, James Kabarebe makes the Rwandan military intelligence services infrastructure available to Joseph Kabile to supply him with false evidence which he will use to incriminate the Congolese military officers targeted for elimination. At the same time, his own privileged position with LD Kabila, henceforth convinced of the sincere attachment of his "son", gives him a very powerful supplementary weapon against his victims!

Strong with these assets, Joseph Kabila starts a sbloody journey, worthy of these of a "serial killer". For each of his crime, he knows he can count on the expertise of his Rwandan mentors who take care to supply him with the "genuine evidence", which he presents to his "father", claiming to have pulled it out of the Rwandan services thanks to his own intelligence networks.
The display of "evidence" provided by the Rwandan dens provoked almost immediately LD Kabila to pronounce the death sentence towards the poor "traitor" officers. General Anselme MASASU became the first known victim of this machiavellian masquerade!

a) Assassination of General Anselme MASASU

In his strategic position of "Chief of Staff of the ground Forces" and in his intermediary's role between LD Kabila and the Congolese military officers native of the East, Joseph Kabila had received, from his "father", the responsability of transporting the logistic assistance to the ‘East Front’ the latter had organised to block, with the Maï-Maï fighters, the aggression of his former allies Rwandans, his worst aggressors after August, 1998.

Unfortunately, big quantities of this logistic help were regularly hijacked by Joseph Kabila for the benefit of the Rwandan troops. Kadogos committed to the service of Joseph Kabila eventually discovered his betrayal and decided to alert their natural leader Masasu. Hurt by this revelation on the trickery of the one that he believed to be his "brother and friend", Masasu decided to confront him. This proved to be wrong, because with this initiative he signed his death sentence, although Joseph Kabila friendly reassured him and rejected altogether all the charges and all the suspicions against him.

After their interview, afraid to be denounced to the president Laurent Désiré Kabila by Masasu, Joseph Kabila actioned his killing process at once so that he could preem Masasu. On his urgent request, a fake genuine official document was provided by Kabarebe, with the heading of the Rwandan intelligence services, in which Masasu was appearing as collaborating with the Rwandan authorities and preparing the imminent physical elimination of the Congolese president!

In front of these "irrefutable evidence" of high treason, Joseph Kabila easily received the green light from his "father" for the execution of general Anselme Masasu, without lawsuit. So was this army officer delivered to his “best friend” Joseph by M' Zee, with eight other valuable Congolese officers involved as accomplices in the document. Nine companions in misfortune were all savagely massacred to Kantonia near Puéto, under Joseph Kabila’s unflinching eyes.

After Masasu’s death, Joseph Kabila started a real purge within the army to eliminate Masasu’s "molest" as well as any other embarassing witness which could reveal or disclose his secret. This situation provoked a massive exodus of young soldiers and officers, of whom most were "Kadogos" native of Kivu. Fortunately, some managed to join Europe and were able to give their testimonies, whereas several others were caught up in their attempt to escape and were executed without any lawsuit.

In his killing frenzy, Joseph Kabila, to reach his final goal, sacrificed several other bright Congolese officers.

To illustrate his dark journey, some of the most well known cases are pinned up below:

b) Commander Martin TSHIMANGA MBIE case

He assumed the function of General Secretary of the Logistics and military Supply of the FAC when he was struck by a violent death in the night of 23 till 24 November 1999 in Kinshasa.
Appointed to this post by general François OLENGA in November 1998, Major Tshimanga Mbie’s mission constisted in

forwarding the military equipment intended for the governmental troops on the various fronts inside the country.
But curiously, general Olenga and Joseph Kabila made last minute changes to the official destination and ordered him to deliver this military equipment to the enemy troops.

For example, this case which occurred in August 1999 when Major Tshimanga received the order to go on a mission to Mbuji Mayi to provide the troops of the Congolese Armed Forces in the battlefront. At the last minute, he received general Olenga’s order to deliver these equipment and medicines to LUBAU in CABINDA, where the Rwandan troops were based!

As he could no longer bear his superiors’s betrayal, the Major Tshimanga Mbie took to denounce them to the Head of State Laurent Désiré Kabila where he sought an audience. Warned by their men placed around the president of the Republic, Joseph Kabila and François Olenga preemed him. A death squad caught him up and coldly executed him in his bedroom, before he could inform Laurent Désiré Kabila.
This case is the best known because the victim’s family engaged with all the judicial authorities of the DRC and a complaint was registered with them. Several requests were sent to the political and judicial authorities worldwide among which the King of the Belgians whose cabinet acknowledged receipt without further action!

c) Execution of three ex-FAZ Generals

As for Major Tshimanga, three very valuable general officers ex-FAZ have known the same fate. These officers, in spite of serving in the Zairean Armed Forces under Mobutu, were very appreciated by Laurent Désiré Kabila for their competence. All three They commanded military operations to the battlefront. Having noticed, after inquiry, that the dispatched war equipment was systematically hijacked by Joseph Kabila, they were about to notify president Laurent Désiré Kabila of the high treason he was victim of from his "son" when they were snatched by the Joseph Kabila's unforgivable machine. A fake genuine document from the Rwandan services made them dangerous "traitors" collaborating with Rwanda to eliminate president LD Kabila! But in reality these three officers were as much a threat as an obstacle to Joseph Kabila’s mission process.

So, having received the authorization from his "father", Joseph Kabila proceeded to the execution of these three highly valuable general officers in ANKORO in 1999. These were:

- Major General MULIMBI MABILO
- Brigadier General BEKAZWA BAKUNDULU, mecano N.004142X
- Brigadier General NGWALA

But the cynical aspect of this situation is that each of these betrayal operations constituted positive points for Joseph: the more he denounced "traitors" and important "moles", the more he gained his "father’s" trust who believed this was about dedication and righteousness worthy of a "son".

Brutus has finally seen his record beaten in Congo!

d) A long series of murdered officers

We would need to write several books if we wanted to describe all the testimonies of the eyewitnesses which attended or participated in the numerous murders of hundreds of thousands Congolese soldiers in the battlefront and in Kinshasa on Joseph Kabila’s orders, either as department head of military intelligence of M' Zee, or as chief of staff of the ground Forces of the FAC.

But we can quote some cases of very known officers which were murdered in Kinshasa after the failed invasion of 1998-1999:

• Colonel TSHEKE MUAKA MANKETE, mecano N.162262E, former commander (major) of the Military Superior Centre (CSM) of the 2nd Republic,
• Colonel NTONDELE MITHAY, mecano N. 170472R
• Colonel KAJUBA SELENGE MADUWA, mecano N. 161982N
• Colonel VONDI NZITA
• Colonel NDOMA MUTEKE

To this list it is necessary to add other officers, killed in 2006, of which most were poisoned, namely colonels: NZALE PAPEDOA, NYASWA, KATALIKO, MAZABA, MBELENGA and OPANGO-DEKE.
We also need to remind the murders, in September 2006, of Major GBONOBE, former Director of the Computing service in the Military Integration Structure (SMI), and of Captain SUMAILI, the former presidential pilot, both meanly murdered in their own residence.

To the targeted eliminations of Congolese superior officers who constituted obstacles to Joseph Kabila's ascent, it is important to add the massacre of FAC troops : in the night of 23 till 24 November 2000, when Joseph Kabila, then chief of staff of the ground Forces of the FAC, brought the Congolese troops in an ambush to facilitate the fall of the city of PUETO in the hands of the Rwandan troops. The fall of this strategic city had to open the royal way to Kagame towards Lubumbashi.

Numerous testimonies of the still alive witnesses confirm that the brigadier Joseph Kabila, chief of staff of the ground Forces, ordered his majors to finish all the Congolese soldiers wounded on battlefields so that the retreat of the troops towards Lubumbashi would not be delayed! Now there were more than 350 soldiers and Congolese officers wounded on the battlefield!!! The Congolese officers shocked and revolted of of their general criminal behavior, tried to shoot him down. Joseph Kabila owed his safety to the fastness of his escape aboard a helicopter which brought him back to Lubumbashi from where he got back to Kinshasa.

Even today, officers and Congolese soldiers are ready to testify against Joseph Kabila for his war crimes!

VI. ASSASSINATION OF LAURENT-DESIRE KABILA:

These dark zones one do not want to enlight Laurent Désiré Kabila’s death has already poured a lot of ink without the mystery which surrounds him was unveiled. Far from us the idea to supply here the hidden causes and the definitive identity of the real authors of this tragedy which henceforth makes the Congolese politics a saga. However, while discovering some circumstances which preceded and followed the tragedy of Laurent Désiré Kabila’s murder in the direct line of Joseph Kabila's ascent towards the summit of the power, we can only be upset with the concordance, the coherence and the convergence of these facts which place Laurent Désiré Kabila’s "son" in the very center of the scene.

Thus let us examine the main elements that were set before the tragedy strictly speaking:

ACT I : Kinshasa, October 2000 : Mrs SIFA Mahanya’s arrest

Mrs SIFA MAHANYA, presented wrongly as being Joseph Kabila biological mother (we shall come back to it), is really Congolese and it is one of the numerous declared or known "wives" of LD Kabila with whom she had 6 children named: Joséphine, Cécile, Masengo, Gloria, Kiki and Maguy.

Mrs Sifa lived with her husband in the Marble Palace, the official residence of the Head of State when at the end of October of the year 2000, Laurent Désiré Kabila has a severe discomfort after a meal. The medical examinations immediately practised diagnose a poisoning. The investigations led by the presidential security staff raise a bundle of serious indications of assumption converging on Mrs SIFA, who is accused of attempt murder on her husband and is immediately arrested on order of LD Kabila and imprisoned in the prison center of Makala in pavilion N. 10.

ACT II : Kinshasa, 11 January 2001 : the exfiltration of Mrs Sifa from the prison center

Behind his "father"’s back, Joseph Kabila organises the prisoner to be removed from her cell, with the complicity of the director of the prison, Mr Kelly DIDO KITUNGUA. Mrs Sifa Mahanya is immediately secretely transferred to Lubumbashi where she is accommodated in a discrete place.

ACT III : Lubumbashi, 12 January 2001: LD Kabila is advised to to cancel his trip to Cameroun

The day after the removal of Mrs Sifa Mahanya, Joseph Kabila contacts his "father" who was preparing to fly to Cameroon to take part at the Summit of the French-speaking world. Joseph advises Laurent Désiré Kabila not to go to Cameroon on the basis of reliable intelligence in his possession information, about a plot against the president of DRC. Laurent Désiré Kabila who deeply trusts his "son" cancels his trip to Cameroon. From Lubumbashi, where he was, the Head of State get back directly to Kinshasa.

ACT IV : Kinshasa, 15 January 2001 : Joseph Kabila orders the disarmament of the garrison of Kinshasa, then he leaves hastily to Lubumbashi.

The day before the tragedy, on order of Joseph Kabila, all military of the FAC garrison of Kinshasa are disarmed without any explanation. Much more, colonel Eddy Kapend receives Joseph Kabila's strict orders to proceed to the arrest of the Head of the External

Management Intelligence (ANR / OF), Mr Ismaël Tutwemoto. It is Mr Leta Mangasa, the ANR Chief General Administrator general-in chief who executes this arrest.
After having taken all these apparently "inexplicable" measures, Joseph Kabila quicly and discreetly flies to Lubumbashi from where he makes a mysterious trip outside the country.

ACT V : Kinshasa, 16 January 2001 : Laurent Désiré Kabila is killed

In the middle-day, shots blast between the Marble Palace walls, the presidential residence. Laurent Désiré Kabila, seriously wounded to his head, dies a short time later, even before being loaded on the helicopter which transports him to the Private hospital Ngaliema.
It is at nightfall that Joseph Kabila gives the order to open N’Djili airport closed since the announcement of the attempted coup, specially for him, to allow the landing of his plane from Lubumbashi! This behaviour of Joseph Kabila seems at the least strange!

How come a son, who scrupulously watched his "father" security until the day before, and who advise the cancellation of his trip to Cameroon because an imminent deadly danger, how come after the announcement of the attack on his "father", this "son" remained cloistered in Lubumbashi, at only 2 hours flight from Kinshasa, and joins the capital only at the end of the day, several hours after his "father"s death? Where had he spent the day? What did he match do all this time? Where did he really come from? Was Lubumbashi not a diversion?

So many questions over the underlying causes of Laurent Désiré Kabila’s death should have been investigated. However, for our
country, we have been working for years now. And today, numerous recorded testimonies are examined and scrutinised.
The formal testimonies of the Congolese medical staff who had received Laurent Désiré Kabila body at the helicopter landing strongly confirm that the Congolese president had died well before his arrival to the private hospital.
However, Joseph Kabila, who had taken control of the operations around " his father ", ordered the transfer of Laurent Désiré Kabila’s body to Harare in Zimbabwe! He then multiplied deceitful communiqués addressed to the Congolese people to persuade them that his president was well. Dominique Sakombi knows about it!

Why thus this masquerade and this macabre mouvements around the mortal remains of a president of the Republic? Another mystery! But the detailed file of the Laurent Désiré Kabila murder will be the subject of another statement.

ACT VI : Kinshasa : During the funerals, Sifa Mahanya is presented to the public as the "weeping widow", and then as Joseph Kabila’s "biological mother"!

During Laurent Désiré Kabila’s funerals starting in Harare and ending 23 January 2001 with the burial in Kinshasa, Mrs Sifa Mahanya, the prisoner removed from her cell 5 days before M'Zee assassination and

hidden in Lubumbashi so far, gets out of her hiding place and is propelled on the national front scene. She is suddenly presented to the national and international press as " the weeping widow " of the deceased president and the biological "mother" of Joseph Kabila who has just taken his "father"’s seat in the conditions which we know. And here we are, the buckle is buckled!
However, in his lifetime, throughout the war and during his mandate to the head of the country, Laurent Désiré Kabila never officially introduced the " first lady " to the Congolese people, in other words: his official wife among his dozen of wives! And, the one that was presented as "the weeping widow" had been removed from prison where she was held for attempted murder on her husband by poisoning. And the author of this removal is the very one who has taken the seat of the victim, and of which Mrs Sifa gives for the very first time, the honorable testimony of being "the biological mother". Do you get the picture?

The final stage setting for this strategy contains vulgar mistakes which call to all Congolese in the tragedy the Democratic Republic of Congo is going through.

Requête à la communauté internationale sur l’identité de Joseph Kabila

« En notre qualité de femme politique, et candidate présidente de la RD Congo et à ce titre, porte-parole du peuple congolais, avons l’honneur de vous adresser la présente requête :

Attendu que celui qui s’occupe de politique internationale ne saurait négliger les questions éthiques ;

Que la question de la crise congolaise doit revêtir nécessairement une dimension d’ordre éthique ;

Que le peuple congolais tient définitivement à tourner la page des assassinats, des détournements de deniers publics, de l’inexpérience, de l’incompétence, de la mauvaise gestion, du pouvoir par procuration, de la corruption et d’autres anti-valeurs ayant atteint leur paroxysme au cours de la présente transition;

Etant donné, par ailleurs, la persistance des zones d’ombre sur la personne de Monsieur Kabila au moment où il accède à la magistrature suprême en RD Congo ;

Etant donné qu’aux yeux du peuple congolais, Joseph Kabila, de plus en plus appelé Hyppolite ou Christopher Kanambe, de nationalité rwandaise, tire sa force de soutien de certaines puissances financières de la communauté internationale ;

Etant entendu que son entourage immédiat a été accusé de corruption et d’indélicatesse dans la constitution d’une immense fortune personnelle sur le dos du peuple congolais ;

En regard de cette situation et pour raison d’Etat afin d’éviter le suicide collectif du peuple ;

Demandons avec insistance au Secrétaire général de l’ONU, de l’UA, aux gouvernements américain, allemand, belge, français, suisse, angolais, sud-africain, britannique et tanzanien d’obtenir de Kabila avant son investiture une déclaration sous serment pour ce qui suit :

1. Qu’il n’a jamais posé aucun acte d’indélicatesse ou de corruption dans la construction de sa fortune personnelle ;

2. Qu’il n’a jamais commis d’actes illicites ou indirects avec le groupe Forrest et qu’il n’a pas placé des fonds personnels en Tanzanie et à Dubaï, qu’il n’alimente pas ses comptes personnels par la vente des Diamants aux diamantaires d’Anvers ;

3. Qu’il déclare sous serment l’Etat de sa fortune ;

4. Qu’il n’est nullement impliqué dans des actes de corruption au Congo et qu’il est exempté de tous soupçons dans les transactions dites fatales, entre autres :

Emphytéose Moanda, les contrats miniers, la vente du sol et sous-sol congolais, la gestion des entreprises publiques dont la disparition de 32 millions de dollars US payés par le Congo-Brazza à la Société Nationale d’Electricité (SNEL), les fonds destinés aux hôpitaux du Congo dans le budget 2005, les 12 millions de dollars US donnés au Mouvement Social pour le Renouveau (MSR) pour manipuler les élections, toutes les ventes suspectes de terre pendant la Transition du reste considérée comme période suspecte ;

5. Qu’il n’a jamais été impliqué dans des abus de droit de l’homme, divers assassinats et crimes contre l’humanité : 200 à 500.000 Hutus pendant l’avancée de l’Afdl de 1996 à 1997 dans l’axe Goma-Kisangani (Voir lettre ouverte du 17 octobre 2001 de Robert Garreton, rapporteur spécial de l’Onu), qu’il n’est ni de près ni de loin concerné par la mort de 5.000.000 de congolais depuis 1996 à ce jour, qu’il n’est pas lié en tant que Commandant suprême des Fardcs aux exécutions sommaires du colonel Tsheke Muadi,commandant Mamba Tshiaba, Officier S3 Ilenda Désiré, du Commandant de compagnie Etende ;

6. Qu’il infirme ou confirme sa filiation vis-à-vis de sa mère biologique Marceline Katerebe Munkangabuje et de son père Christopher Kanambe, qu’il publie et signe sous serment son curriculum vitae détaillé avec précision des années, des noms des écoles et lieux, les types d’études, des titres académiques acquis, des références de ses professeurs et témoignages de ses collègues de classe ;

Considérant que sous d’autres cieux, ces accusations donneraient lieu à un impeachment ;

De ce qui précède...

Les fonctions de Chef d’Etat qu’exerce Joseph Kabila et les engagements qu’il prend en notre nom exigent de lui une visibilité et une transparence complètes surtout, en ce moment crucial du destin d’un peuple qui sort de 40 années de soumission ;

Sous toutes réserves de droit, sous bénéfice d’urgence et tout en remerciant la communauté internationale du soutien vrai au peuple congolais sans défense, une suite à la présente requête m’obligerait.

Concerning the Fraud & Parody and the Illegitimacy of the Elections in the former DRC in 2006

Cardinal Frédérick Etsou-Nzabi-Bamungwabi, Archbishop of Kinshasa

"I ask the international community to abstain from all attempts to impose on the people of Congo he whom they have not chosen as their president," Etsou told Radio France International. His comments came as the votes were being counted in November and partial results already gave to Mr. Hippolyte Kanombe alias Joseph Kabila, who was then serving as interim president, the lead.

Cardinal Etsou also accused the Electoral Commission of publishing false results.

Marie-Thérèse Nlandu Mpolo-Nene, a lawyer at the DRC’s Supreme Court of Justice and leader of the Parti pour la Paix au Congo (Congo-Pax) political party, was arrested in Kinshasa, on 21 November by agents of the services spéciaux de la police, (Special Services police). Marie-Thérèse Nlandu was engaged as a lawyer representing Jean-Pierre Bemba’s appeal before the Supreme Court of Justice against the results of the second round of presidential elections.

After the second round of the presidential elections, Cardinal Etsou took his responsibility as a religious leader to speak the truth and accused the president of the CEI (Independent Electoral Commission) of being part in the complot and involved in rigging and ballot result fraud.

In an interview made to the Radio of France International on the 13th of November 2006, who takes from now on the relief of a political legacy, the cardinal stated: "I, personally, as a priest, I do not accept this lie. The truth is needed. The Abbot Malu Malu must conform to the verdict of the ballot boxes. It cannot be allowed that one falsifies the verdict of the ballot boxes. I say No to all attempts to impose to the people has candidate in front of just to satisfy the appetites of the gluttons and predatory of its Foreign partners."

"We priests of the People of God, have a difficult and delicate mission: that to be servants of the truth and not lie. And it is with courage. (…).

Our standpoint in any moment must be in favour of the people of God.
Let us open our eyes in our dioceses to see the misery of our people.

Let us open our hearts in front of more than 4 million Citizens killed by the war

These results differ significantly by far to those of the political masquerade which we have witnessed on 15 November. Concerning the assassination by poisoning of the Cardinal Frédérick Etsou-Nzabi-Bamungwabi Archbishop of Kinshasa

Following his interview to the Radio France International on the 13th of November 2006 the poisoning of Cardinal Frédérick Etsou-Nzabi-Bamungwabi, Archbishop of Kinshasa in Belgium where he died soon after on the 6th of January 2007

"We cannot exclude anything!" This declaration was made under anonymity by someone next to the Cardinal citing the words of a medical member of staff treating the patient. After a week, informs this source, "the vital organs of the patient Etsou - to enumerate the kidneys, the lungs and the liver - have deteriorated in a record time, living in amazement the medical staff".

In accordance with eye witnesses, the face of the Cardinal was subjected to an "eruption coetaneous" of unknown origin. The medical personnel have affirmed that the more seriously of the world than the face of Frédéric Etsou resembling more and more to that of the Ukrainian President Viktor Iouchtchenko, victim of a dioxin poison. This information’s have not been denied by the visitors which have gained access to the patient. The Archbishop of Kinshasa, presented, according to them, the signs of someone who has ingested harmful substances.

Certain sources assure that blood examinations have revealed "traces of dioxin". Other sources talk of "traces of cyanide". Cardinal Frédéric Etsou-Nzabi-Bamungwabi died on the 6th of January 2007 in Belgium from poisonous substances.

Dans son homélie de ce dimanche 07 Janvier 2007 à 08 heures, le Cardinal Théodore Edgar Mc Carrick l’Archevêque de Washington a annoncé le décès de son grand ami le Cardinal Frédéric Etsou Nzabi Bamungwabi l’Archevêque de Kinshasa à l’âge de 77 ans. Le décès est survenu hier samedi le 06 janvier 2007 à 20h 50’ à l’Hôpital Universitaire (UZ) Gasthuis à Louvain.

Selon les proches du Cardinal Théodore Edgar Mc Carrick, le Cardinal Frédéric Etsou souffrait d’un diabète instable mais son état de santé n’inspirait aucune inquiétude jusqu’à sa fameuse déclaration fracassante sur Radio France Internationale, dénonçant les irrégularités constatées par les témoins de l’église Catholique présents dans tous les bureaux de vote et, l’inexactitude des résultats officiels, du deuxième tour de l’élection présidentielle, publiés par la Commission Electorale Indépendante (CEI) au profit de Joseph Kabila. Le Cardinal Frédéric Etsou n’a pas hésité à mettre en doute publiquement la probité morale de l’Abbé Apollinaire Muholongu Malumalu Président de la CEI et son rôle très actif dans le hold-up électoral en RDCongo. Ce Cardinal a eu le courage politique d’appeler les Congolais à ne pas laisser leur pays sous la coupe des étrangers...

Les déclarations politique du Cardinal Etsou ont suscité une violente réaction du milieu politico - affairistes francs-maçons de Belgique, dont l’un des grands Maîtres est bien connu pour son implication personnelle dans le dossier congolais. Mettre en doute la victoire du protégé du monde des Affaires Franc-Maçon actif en RDCongo, est inacceptable pour certains. Delà à imaginer un complot international exécuté par les hommes de Joseph Kabila, dont l’expérience en chimie des substances toxiques n’est plus à démontrée, il y a qu’un pas que beaucoup de Congolais n’hésitent plus à franchir.

Les Congolais sont très inquiets du nombre très élevé de civils et officiers de l’armée congolaise décédés par empoisonnement depuis l’entrée de l’armée rebelle de l’AFDL commandée par Joseph Kabila avec le soutien de l’armée rwandaise en 1996, co-auteur du génocide oublié de plus de 200.000 réfugiés Hutus rwandais, perpétré à l’Est de la RDCongo. Les Rapports d’enquêtes sur ces massacres de masse sont toujours disponibles à l’ONU et à la Commission européenne (Rapports Roberto Gareton, Emma Bonino, Aldo Ajello et Christopher Harland) ...

Le décès du Cardinal Etsou nous rappelle celui du Cardinal Joseph Albert Malula Archevêque de Kinshasa qui après un diagnostic d’empoisonnement, fut transféré d’urgence en Belgique où il rendit l’âme le 14 juin 1989 à la Clinique Universitaire de Louvain (Hôpital saint Raphaël) à l’âge de 72 ans. Une Religieuse d’origine Rwandaise fût l’exécutante de la sale besogne, au profit du pouvoir dictatorial de Mobutu. Les tentatives d’assassinats orchestrées par Mobutu contre ce Cardinal sont légions; L’opinion se rappellera l’empoisonnement raté dont l’exécutant, un grand baron du Mobutisme, le feu Madrandele Tanzi qui a dû manger, bien malgré lui, après un échange amical d’assiettes et de verres à la demande du Cardinal, le repas qu’il savait pertinemment empoisonné, lors d’un dîner de travail à Lubumbashi au début de l’année 1980.

Le Cardinal Malula ne mâchait pas ses mots dans ses prises de position politique contre le régime dictatorial et prédateur en place. Humaniste, Visionnaire et Homme de combat, le Cardinal Malula fut le fondateur du christianisme authentiquement africain; Son engagement politique précoce l’amena à participer en 1956 à la conception, et la rédaction du «Manifeste de conscience africaine» qui fut le premier document intellectuel congolais qui a littéralement ébranlé le pouvoir colonial belge. L’assassinat du Premier Ministre Patrice Emery Lumumba commandité par le pouvoir colonial, fut une très grande perte pour la RDCongo, selon le Cardinal Malula. Sa lutte frontale contre le pouvoir dictatorial de Mobutu lui a valu un exil à Rome, au Vatican, en 1972, pendant la période de «zaïrianisation» ou Nationalisation sauvage des entreprises privées.

L’histoire de la RDCongo est un éternel recommencement, les mêmes causes (Les richesses minières) produisent toujours les mêmes effets, dit-on. A l’instar de son prédécesseur le Cardinal Malula, le Cardinal Frédéric Etsou par ses différentes prises de position en faveur du peuple congolais, est certainement une des nombreuses victimes de la maffia internationale active en RDCongo. L’évidence de conflits d’intérêts et les intérêts générés par les conflits armés en RDCongo, ont poussé cet illustre disparu à comparer les connexions politico - affairistes des Francs-Maçons en RDCongo à l’Eglise de Scientologie. Son décès doit sûrement faire quelques heureux parmi les pêcheurs en eaux troubles !

Certains Congolais, contactés par nos soins, saluent la mémoire et le courage politique du défunt; D’autres n’ont pas caché leur amertume face à ce décès qualifié de suspect et, n’hésitent pas à pointer du doigt la responsabilité des parrains du processus électoral congolais et, celle de Joseph Kabila dans l’assassinat présumé du Cardinal Frédéric Etsou. Ces Congolais regrettent le fait que leur Cardinal ait choisi, comme son prédécesseur le Cardinal Malula, la Belgique pour se faire soigner.

Nous espérons fermement que les Congolais épris de liberté et de justice iront jusqu’au bout pour défendre leur indépendance chèrement acquise. Seule la lutte libère.

Concernant la vraie identité de
Mr Hippolyte Kanombe alias "Joseph Kabila"

Une information indépendante et largement publiée dans les médias africains par Jeune Afrique et d'autres au sujet de la vraie identité de M. Hippolyte Kanombe et de son véritable père, il a été rapporté que le père de «Joseph Kabila» doit être un Rwandais du nom de Kanombe et sa maman une Tutsi Rwandaise appelé Marcelline qui, plus tard était devenue l'une des épouses de Laurent-Désire Kabila.
Bizima Karaha, Ministre des Affaires étrangères de la RD Congo et Leader du RCD (un Mouvement Rebelle soutenu par le Rwanda), décrit Hippolyte Kanombe alias "Joseph Kabila" comme étant enfant adoptif de Laurent-Désire Kabila.

"Quand j'ai vu Hippolyte Kanombe pour la toute première fois à Kisangani en mars 1997, il était Chauffeur du commandant James Kabarebe, un ancien compagnon de Laurent-Désire Kabila. Hippolyte Kanombe fut présenté comme neveu du commandant James Kabarebe", dit Un homme d'affaire africain.

Hippolyte Kanombe a servi dans l'armée rwandaise en 1995. Plusieurs témoins soulignent également le fait indiscutable que Hippolyte Kanombe alias "Joseph Kabila" parle couramment le kinyarwanda, la lingua franca du Rwanda.
En ce qui concerne la fraude, la parodie et l'Illégitimité des élections de 2006 en RDC

Cardinal Frédérick Etsou-Nzabi-Bamungwabi, archevêque de Kinshasa:
"Je demande à la communauté internationale de s'abstenir de toutes les tentatives d'imposer au peuple Congolais, comme Président, celui qu'ils n'ont pas élu." dit Etsou à la Radio France Internationale. Ses commentaires sont parvenus pendant que les voix étaient comptées en novembre et les résultats partiels donnaient déjà à M. Hippolyte Kanombe alias Joseph Kabila, alors président intérimaire, le fil.
Cardinal Etsou a également accusé la Commission électorale d'avoir publié des faux résultats.

Marie-Thérèse Nlandu Mpolo-Nene, Avocate à la Cour suprême de Justice de la RD Congo et Leader d'un Parti politique «Parti pour la Paix au Congo» (Congo- Pax), a été arrêtée à Kinshasa le 21 novembre par des agents des services spéciaux de la police, (Police de services Spéciaux). Marie-Thérèse Nlandu avait été engagée comme Avocate représentant l'Appel de Jean-Pierre Bemba devant la Cour suprême de Justice contre les résultats du deuxième Tour des élections présidentielles.

Après le deuxième Tour des élections présidentielles, Cardinal Etsou a pris ses responsabilités en tant que Leader religieux afin de dire la vérité et a accusé le président de la CEI (la Commission électorale indépendante) d'être complice dans le complot et impliqué dans la fraude des résultats de vote.

Dans une entrevue faite à la Radio France Internationale en date du 13 novembre 2006, qui prend dorénavant le soulagement d'un legs politique, le cardinal a indiqué : "moi, personnellement, en tant que prêtre, je n'accepte pas ce mensonge. La vérité est nécessaire. L'abbé Malu Malu doit se conformer au verdict des urnes de vote. Il ne peut pas permettre d'être falsifié. Je dis non à toutes les tentatives d'imposer au peuple le candidat juste pour satisfaire les appétits des gloutons et prédateur de ses associés étrangers."
"Nous, Prêtres du Peuple de Dieu, avons une mission difficile et délicate : c'est d'être des Serviteurs de la vérité et non du mensonge. Et cela avec courage (...).

Notre position dans n'importe quel moment doit être en faveur du Peuple de Dieu. Ouvrons nos yeux dans nos diocèses pour voir la misère de nos Peuples.

Ouvrons nos cœurs devant plus de 4 millions de citoyens tués par la guerre d'occupation inutile, guerre qui s'est produite et continue d'engendrer la famine et les divisions des familles, alors qu'elle était un moyen utilisé par les belligérants pour s'enrichir et vendre le pays aux Étrangers."

"Comme toute autre personne, nous avons l'information concise des vrais résultats électoraux du 30 octobre 2006. Ces résultats diffèrent sensiblement de loin de ceux de la mascarade politique de laquelle nous avons été témoins le 15 novembre. Par la déclaration de la CEI et le verdict de la Cour suprême de Justice du 27 novembre 2006, et en dépit des voies faciles de quelques-uns, nous continuerons de parler au nom de 8 millions d'habitants qui constituent l'archidiocèse de Kinshasa!"

En ce qui concerne l'assassinat par l'empoisonnement du Cardinal Frédérick Etsou-Nzabi-Bamungwabi l'archevêque de Kinshasa
Après son interview à la Radio France Internationale le 13 novembre 2006, le Cardinal Frédérick Etsou-Nzabi-Bamungwabi, l'archevêque de Kinshasa fut empoisonné et meurt sitôt en date du 6 janvier 2007 en Belgique.

«On ne peut rien exclure!». C'est la déclaration faite sous l'anonymat par un des proches du défunt citant un de médecins traitant. Depuis une semaine, confie cette source, «les organes vitaux du patient Etsou – à savoir les reins, les poumons et le foie - se sont détériorés en un temps record à la stupéfaction du corps médical ».

Selon les témoins oculaires, le visage du cardinal a été soumis à une "éruption cutanée" d'origine inconnue. Le personnel médical a affirmé que sérieusement le visage de Frédéric Etsou ressemblait de plus en plus à celui du Président ukrainien Viktor Iouchtchenko, victime d'un poison de dioxine. Cette information a été confirmée par les visiteurs qui ont eu l'occasion de voir le malade. L'Archevêque de Kinshasa présentait, selon eux, les signes de quelqu'un qui a ingurgité des substances nocives.

Jackson Wilson: Les pays occidentaux qui ont financé le processus électoral en RDC se sentent aujourd'hui floués depuis que votre gouvernement a signé avec le régime chinois un acc­ord de coopération pour un montant de 8,5 milliards de dollars. La Banque Mondiale et FMI boudent cet accord. Que pensez-vous des réactions des parrains occidentaux?

Hippolyte Kanombe Kazemberembe alias Joseph Kabila: Primo, je n'ai pas de parrains occidentaux. Les élections en RDC ont été libres, démocratiques transparentes. Je suis un nationaliste africain et un panafricaniste convaincu. Ceux des occidentaux qui ont cru être les prétendus parrains vont l'appendre à leur dépend! Je n'ai des comptes à rendre qu'aux électeurs congolais qui m'ont apporté leur confiance. Secundo, j'ai décidé de coopérer avec la Chine, malgré les pressions internationales, car c'est la 4ème puissance mondiale. Je dirai même que la Chine est en réalité la première puissance mondiale.

Nous avons compris que la coopération bilatérale avec nos partenaires occidentaux traditionnels n'a été que duperie. L'exemple le plus frappant est celui de l'accord de coopération avec la Belgique, signé juste après mon investiture, pour un montant de moins de 200 millions d'Euros sur 5 ans! Ce petit montant, argent de poche, loin de nous aider à sortir du marasme économique, nous enferme dans un système de surendettement chronique, une forme de néocolonialisme sournois qui ne dit pas son nom. Nous avons com­pris qu'il fallait absolument couper ce cordon ombilical maléfique. Je peux vous assurer que Hugo Chavez et Fidel Castro sont mes models. Ils ont compris les vrais enjeux économiques internatio­naux, déséquilibrés, au détriment des pays du sud.

La Chine à l’assaut de l’Afrique

Des investissements supérieurs aux sommes injectées par la Banque Mondiale, 800 000 Chinois installés sur place… L’Afrique est en passe d’être dévorée toute crue par l’Empire du milieu.

La croissance et même la survie économique de la Chine dépendent, paradoxalement et pour une part croissante, du continent le moins développé, l’Afrique.

Pékin absorbe désormais 25 % de tout le cuivre consommé à travers le monde, 40 % du charbon, 35 % de l’acier, 10 % du pétrole et sa demande ne cesse de croître, et 90 % de tout l’aluminium. Une économie dévoreuse d’énergie, boulimique en matières premières qui s’est tout naturellement tournée vers la région qui en est le mieux pourvu.

Les Chinois ont lancé une véritable OPA sur l’Afrique en profitant à la fois de la perte d’influence occidentale, notamment française en Afrique de l’Ouest, et de la crise que traversent les institutions chargées de l’aide au développement.
En 2007 Pékin a investi plus de 9 milliards de dollars en Afrique alors que la Banque Mondiale s’est révélée incapable d’y injecter plus de 2,5 milliards de dollars. L’organisation internationale basée à Washington tente désormais de convaincre la Chine de devenir son partenaire pour le financement des projets africains.

Plus de 800 000 Chinois travaillent déjà sur ce continent pour plus de 900 entreprises de toutes tailles. Ils extraient le cuivre et le cobalt en Zambie et au Congo, le platine et le chrome au Zimbabwe ; ils achètent d’énormes quantités de bois au Gabon, au Cameroun, au Mozambique, en Guinée équatoriale et au Libéria, ainsi que l’acier, l’or, le charbon, le nickel dans tous les pays de cette zone qui en détiennent ou en produisent. L’Angola fournit la moitié du pétrole importé d’Afrique par Pékin. En janvier 2005 le gouvernement de Luanda a bénéficié d’un prêt chinois de 2 milliards de dollars gagés sur le pétrole, qui a augmenté d’un milliard de dollars l’année suivante. Officiellement pour réparer les infrastructures déficientes.

Les Chinois détournent le regard

En réalité, la Chine sait qu’elle traite avec des régimes totalement corrompus qui détournent à leur profit une partie de ces sommes. En juillet 2005, la Chine et le Nigeria, autre exemple de corruption à tous les niveaux, ont signé un accord de 800 millions de dollars qui prévoit la livraison de 30 000 barils de pétrole quotidien à la Chine ; le régime nigérian a aussi octroyé à la Chine des licences de forage en échange de 4 milliards de dollars.

Pour les nombreux dictateurs qui peuplent cette région, Pékin constitue une manne et une bénédiction : le régime chinois offre une alternative au tête à tête de plus en plus pesant et tendu avec les occidentaux, ne manifeste aucune exigence en matière de démocratie ou de bonne gouvernance, et enfin, propose gratuitement des services que ces régimes ont toujours été incapables d’offrir à leur population. Plus de 15 000 médecins chinois ont ouvert des dispensaires dans 47 États africains.

La Chine: un généreux investisseur?

Désormais, l’Afrique fournit 1/3 du pétrole importé par Pékin. Ce qui explique qu’en 2006-2007, le Président chinois Hu Jin Tao ait visité 17 pays du continent. En 2005, le flux commercial entre la Chine et l’Afrique s’élevait à 40 milliards de dollars, il dépassera les 100 milliards de dollars avant 2010. Les réserves financières de la Chine dépassent 1 500 milliards de dollars et Pékin joue de cette puissance financière pour séduire, contrôler. En juin 2006, le Sénégal a ainsi bénéficié d’un allègement de sa dette, qui atteignait alors 20 millions de dollars.
Par ailleurs, la Chine s’est engagée à investir 35 millions de dollars dans le dernier délire pharaonique du Président Wade, la construction du plus grand théâtre d’Afrique de l’Ouest. Aussi mauvais gestionnaire que grand mégalomane, le dirigeant sénégalais se montre très satisfait de la réactivité chinoise : « un contrat », confie-t-il, « qui était discuté et négocié pendant cinq ans avec la Banque Mondiale, est conclu en 3 mois avec les Chinois ».

Il est vrai que pour Pékin, le temps presse. Et l’ampleur des investissements est à la mesure de cette urgence. 15 milliards de dollars ont été investis au Soudan depuis 1996, essentiellement dans le pétrole, et 500 000 barils par jour sont extraits, en grande partie par la CNPC (China National Pétroleum Corporation), autorisée à extraire directement les gisements. Pékin finance et arme également les rebelles tchadiens avec, comme objectif, le contrôle des zones pétrolifères du pays.

Vive les matières premières!

Étendre la présence chinoise en République du Congo est devenu une autre priorité. Le plus grand pays d’Afrique est aussi l’un des plus pauvres au monde, avec un revenu annuel par habitant de 714 dollars. C’est également potentiellement le plus riche : son sous-sol recèle les plus importantes réserves mondiales de cobalt et de tantalum, un métal rare, et d’énormes gisements de cuivre, d’or, de diamants, de manganèse, d’uranium et de zinc. Un accord signé en septembre 2007 prévoit que la Chine injectera 6,5 milliards de dollars dans la construction ou l’amélioration des infrastructures du pays, ainsi que 2 milliards de dollars supplémentaires pour ouvrir ou moderniser de nouvelles mines.

Dans ce pays, les Chinois concurrencent directement les grands groupes miniers occidentaux mais disposent d’un atout de poids : leurs firmes sont des entreprises publiques capables de surenchérir inlassablement pour s’adjuger les concessions. Un seul exemple : en 2006 Sinopec, l’une des 3 compagnies pétrolières chinoises, a accepté de payer 2 milliards de dollars pour exploiter le pétrole sur trois lots situés dans les eaux territoriales Angolaises.

Cette stratégie rassure Pékin, quant à la stabilité de ses approvisionnements, et encourage les comportements les plus obscènes de certains dirigeants africains:
